Howell burglars busted with over $200k in stolen jewelry, police investigating

HOWELL, NJ – On March 27, 2023, Howell Township Police, in collaboration with the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, arrested two suspects in connection with a residential burglary on West Farms Rd., which took place on December 26, 2022.

The suspects, Dathan Thompson, 32, of Neptune, and Karl Roberson, 32, also of Neptune, were caught wearing face masks and gloves on home security surveillance cameras.

They reportedly forced entry through a rear door, stealing over $200,000 in exotic jewelry and valuables from the master bedroom.

Detectives Ryan Jackson and Anthony Romano led a comprehensive investigation that utilized advanced training in technical applications and analysis of cellular data to identify the suspects.

Thompson was charged with burglary, theft, and criminal mischief, while Roberson faced additional charges related to possession of controlled dangerous substances and weapons offenses.
