NYPD asking for help identifying suspect who attacked woman at 96th Street Station

NEW YORK, NY – The New York City Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a male suspect involved in an assault incident on a southbound 2 train on March 22, 2023.

A 35-year-old female victim was engaged in a verbal dispute with the suspect, which escalated into a physical altercation.

As the suspect exited the train at the 96th Street Station, he displayed a can of pepper spray and struck the victim in the back of the head with it before fleeing on foot.

The suspect is described as being in his late teens to early 20s, approximately 5’11” tall, and was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, gray sweatpants, and a multicolored backpack. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline.
