Rockville jewelry store targeted in smash and grab robbery

ROCKVILLE, MD – In the early hours of Sunday, the Rockville City Police Department responded to a burglary report at a jewelry store located on the 100 block of Gibbs Street.

Upon arrival at around 5:36 a.m., officers discovered that the front window of the store had been shattered, numerous jewelry cases smashed, and a high dollar value of precious items stolen.

According to the preliminary investigation, three suspects wearing all dark clothing, masks, and gloves were seen fleeing the scene of the crime towards the Dawson’s Market parking area.

No suspects have been identified and no arrests have been made.

Police are actively investigating the incident and are seeking information from the public that may lead to the identification and apprehension of the suspects. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Rockville City Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit at 240-314-8938.
