Woman sought in attack on 72-year-old woman at Staten Island Mall

NEW YORK – Police in Staten Island are searching for a female suspect wanted for an attack against an elderly woman.

Police are asking the public for help in identifying a woman in connection with an assault that took place at the Staten Island Mall.

The incident occurred last Tuesday at approximately 5 PM.

According to the report, a 72-year-old woman was involved in a dispute with an unknown individual, who punched her in the left eye before fleeing the scene. The victim suffered minor injuries but did not require hospitalization.

The NYPD has released a description of the suspect, who is believed to be a female with light complexion, aged between 35 to 40 years old. She was last seen wearing a black shirt.

Law enforcement officials are urging anyone with information about the incident or the suspect’s identity to come forward. Those with information can call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or 1-888-57-PISTA (74782) for Spanish speakers.
