EVESHAM, NJ – Evesham Township Police Department is set to host its annual Junior Police Academy day camp, aimed at providing young citizens an introduction to law enforcement. The goal of the academy is to encourage young people to become outstanding citizens and to act as positive influences in their community. The program provides an opportunity for officers and students to interact with each other as people, rather than adversaries, while encouraging young citizens to become partners in building safer schools and communities.

The Junior Police Academy will cover a variety of topics including social media, bullying, motor vehicle law, DWI enforcement, teens and drug use, crime scene and evidentiary processing, active shooter scenarios, and K-9 demonstrations. The program will also begin each day with an hour of light physical training and military drill.

Applications for the program will be available at the Evesham Township Police Department, as well as online at www.eveshampd.org. Completed applications must be turned into the police department in person by the deadline of June 3, 2022.
