Police Investigate Shooting at River Common

WILKES-BARRE, PA – On April 12, 2023, officers patrolling the area of River Street and North Street in Wilkes-Barre were approached by a subject who stated that two males were arguing along the River Common and that a gunshot was heard.

Officers responded to South River Street for a reported victim of the assault and found a male suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim was treated at the scene and transported to a local hospital facility for further treatment. The initial investigation indicated that the victim was involved in a disturbance with the suspect that escalated to a shooting.

No suspects have been identified and no arrests have been made.

The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with any information related to this incident is asked to contact the Wilkes-Barre Police Detective Division.
