Three Juveniles Arrested for Attempted Carjacking in Cherry Hill; Weapon Recovered

CHERRY HILL, NJ – On Monday, at approximately 11:21 p.m., Cherry Hill Police units responded to a report of an attempted carjacking in the parking lot of a Walmart at 500 RT. 38.

The victim reported that three males approached her vehicle quickly, opened her driver’s door, and demanded she exit the vehicle while she was seated inside. One of the suspects displayed a handgun in his waistband. The victim managed to drive away from the suspects and immediately notified the police. She was not injured during the incident.

Arriving patrol units located the three suspects behind the shopping center and took them into custody. A Police K-9 search of the area resulted in the discovery of a handgun near where the suspects had been located.

The suspects were later identified as a 13 and a 15-year-old from Camden, NJ, and a 14-year-old from Pennsauken, NJ. They are facing charges of carjacking, conspiracy, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a firearm by a minor.
