Suspect arrested for deadly Hyattsville shooting

HYATTSVILLE, MD – Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit has arrested Alex Quinteros, 28, in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred on April 14, 2023, in the unincorporated section of Hyattsville. Quinteros allegedly shot Rudy Perez Gutierrez, 24, and another victim during a robbery in the 2100 block of Guilford Road.

Perez Gutierrez was pronounced dead at the scene, while the second victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Quinteros faces charges including first and second-degree murder, attempted murder, robbery, and related charges. He is currently in the custody of the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status.
