Victim in fatal parking garage collapsed identified by NYPD

NEW YORK, NY – A victim who died in the fatal parking garage collapse in New York City was identified by police on Thursday.

The victim has been identified as 59-year-old Willis Moore of Queens.

Police were called to the scene of a possible explosion at approximately 4:00 on Tuesday. Upon arrival, officers found a partial structural collapse of a four-story commercial building that includes a parking garage located at 45 Ann Street.

The area was immediately evacuated with the help of FDNY and NYPD ESU. It has not been confirmed if there are any other individuals trapped or injured in the incident.

The NYC Department of Buildings (DOB) has been notified and is responding to the scene. The investigation remains active, and authorities are working to determine the cause of the explosion.

City officials investigating the collapse have hinted that the owner of the building had several possible pending code violations at the time of the collapse.

Moore was the property manager at the building.
