17-year-old shot in Chicago, not cooperating with police investigation

CHICAGO, IL – A 17-year-old who was shot in Chicago Friday afternoon is not coopering with the police investigation, detectives said today.

Chicago Police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred in the 7700 block of S. Jeffery at approximately 3:39 p.m.

According to police reports, a 17-year-old male victim was struck in the thigh and then transported himself to Jackson Park Hospital. He was initially reported to be in good condition.

As of now, there are no suspects in custody, and area detectives have launched an investigation into the incident. The Chicago Police Department said that the victim is uncooperative with the responding officers, making it difficult for the authorities to gather information.

The motives and the circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear.
