Monroe Township fire completely out, officials report

MONROE TOWNSHIP, NJ – A fire in the woods behind 2610 South Black Horse Pike in Monroe Township has been 100% contained and extinguished. The fire broke out early Saturday evening. Luckily, it happened near the Cecil Fire Company’s fire station.

The Cecil Fire Company and the NJ Forest Fire Service used ground and air resources to extinguish the fire.

Later in the evening, a rainstorm passed through the area, so the risk of a flare-up has been reduced.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
