Dorchester Man Arrested, Loaded Firearm Recovered in Roxbury Traffic Stop

ROXBURY, MA – Chitori Perry, 31, of Dorchester was arrested after officers discovered a loaded firearm during a traffic stop in the area of 509 Columbia Road in Roxbury. At approximately 12:30 AM today, officers assigned to District C-11 (Dorchester) stopped a motor vehicle for speeding and an equipment violation. They subsequently learned that the operator, Perry, did not possess a valid driver’s license and was wanted on an active default warrant.

Officers removed Perry from the vehicle and placed him in custody without incident. A search of the vehicle led to the recovery of a .40 caliber Glock 27 loaded with nine rounds of ammunition and an additional empty magazine. At the time of the stop, there were three passengers inside the vehicle who were identified and released from the scene.

Perry will appear in Dorchester District Court on charges of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, and Operating a Motor Vehicle After Suspension or Revocation. The arrest serves as a reminder of the ongoing efforts by law enforcement to keep the streets safe from illegal firearms and dangerous individuals.
