Four shot, 12-year-old girl killed in drive-by shooting in Hartford

HARTFORD, CT – The family of a 12-year-old girl in Hartford is heartbroken after learning Secret Pierce,  a seventh grader at Thirman L. Milner Middle School, was shot and killed in a drive-by shooting. She was an innocent bystander according to police.

Three others were shot in the incident, including males aged 16, 18, and 23.

The suspects, who later fled the scene, appeared to target three males standing on a sidewalk near downtown Hartford shortly after 8:30 pm.

Pierce was sitting in a parked car when she was fatally shot in the head during the gunfire. She is Hartford’s seventh homicide victim of the year.

The other victims are expected to survive.

Mayor Luke Bronin expressed his condolences and grief during a morning news conference outside police headquarters.

Detectives are investigating the incident and are asking the public for any information that may help identify the suspects. No arrests have been made.
