Gas Station Clerk Shot and Killed Just Weeks Before Graduating College, Quitting Job

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Columbus Division of Police is actively searching for a suspect involved in a fatal shooting at a Shell gas station in the Franklinton area early Thursday morning.

The victim, identified as 24-year-old Saiesh Veera, was working as a clerk when the suspect entered the store and shot him.

Veera was transported to the hospital, later succumbing to his injuries.

Friends and family remember him as a kind and positive individual who was working towards a better future. Veera, originally from India, was pursuing his master’s degree in I.T. at a school overseas and was planning to quit his job at the gas station in just two weeks as he was nearing graduation.

To assist with funeral expenses and transporting Veera’s body back to India, friends and family have set up a GoFundMe campaign. He was a native of Andhra, India.
