MINEOLA, NY – Sean O’Leary, 64, a Lake Success attorney, was arraigned Wednesday before Judge Norman Sammut on one count of Grand Larceny in the Second Degree for allegedly stealing $60,000 from a woman he represented in a personal injury claim in January 2021. O’Leary’s company, Sean O’Leary & Associates, PLLC, was located in Lake Success.

According to the charges, the victim was injured in a car accident in May 2018 and hired O’Leary to represent her in a personal injury claim. O’Leary negotiated a $90,000 settlement with the other driver’s insurance company. He allegedly withheld the entire sum from the victim, despite multiple requests for her share.

The defendant is due back in court on April 26, 2023, and faces up to five to 15 years in prison if convicted. The case is being prosecuted by Senior Investigative Counsel Lauren Littman of the Financial Crimes Bureau.
