Community Gun Buyback in Peekskill Collects 66 Firearms

PEEKSKILL, NY – A Community Gun Buyback event held in Peekskill resulted in the collection of 66 firearms, including rifles, handguns, and shotguns.

The event was organized in partnership with the United Methodist Church, NAACP-Peekskill Area Chapter, City of Peekskill Police Department, and the City of Peekskill, New York.

District Attorney Rocah stated, “As of today, 66 more guns are off our streets and out of potentially the wrong hands.

He said the gun buybacks are part of a broader gun safety goals intended to reduce gun-involved incidents, including gun suicides.

The initiative aims to promote gun safety, stop gun violence, and keep Westchester safe.
