Wawa delivery truck robbed of cigarettes at gunpoint

WILMINGTON, DE – The Delaware State Police are actively investigating an armed robbery of a delivery truck that occurred on Friday, at approximately 8:15 p.m. The incident took place at the Wawa located at 2030 Limestone Road in Wilmington. Troopers responded to the scene and discovered that two suspects had entered the trailer of a parked tractor-trailer as a 58-year-old man and a 23-year-old man were unloading and delivering products for Wawa.

One of the suspects brandished a handgun, and the duo proceeded to steal numerous boxes of cigarettes from the trailer before fleeing the area in an unknown direction. Fortunately, neither victim was harmed during the robbery. The suspects are described as black males in their early 20’s, approximately 5’10” to 6’00” tall with thin builds. Surveillance video and images are not yet available.

The Troop 2 Robbery Unit is leading the investigation and is asking anyone with information regarding the case to contact Detective R. Kirchenbauer at 302-365-8525.
