TOMS RIVER, NJ – Ocean County officials will be hosting a virtual Public Information Center (PIC) to inform residents and businesses of the proposed Safety Improvements at the Intersection of County Route 549 Hooper Avenue & County Route 620 Church/Kettle Creek Road.

The PIC will take place between May 4 and May 17, 2023, and is being conducted in compliance with Federal and State regulations. The proposed project aims to address the inadequate geometric layout for turning vehicles and pedestrian facilities.

Proposed improvements include sidewalks, ADA compliance, upgrading signalized intersections to current standards, adding a Thru/Right turn lane on Southbound Hooper Avenue, constructing an additional Westbound Lane on Church Road, and modifying the existing exclusive right turn lane on Westbound Kettle Creek Road.

Written comments will be accepted through May 18, 2023, and more information can be found at the project website https://www.co.ocean.nj.us/OC/Engineering/frmHooperAveChurchRdSafety.aspx or bit.ly/3IIqkKf.
