Suspect who shot and killed 27-year-old man in Chicago arrested

CHICAGO, IL – Chicago Police Department’s Interim Superintendent, Eric M. Carter, announced that 24-year-old Jamon Darring has been charged with multiple felony counts of murder, including First Degree Murder, in connection to the shooting death of a 27-year-old male victim.

The incident occurred on April 21, 2023, at around 1:36 pm in the 400 block of W. 77th St. (6th District). Darring was arrested by Chicago police on April 23, 2023, in the 200 block of W. Kinzie St. No further details are currently available.

Darring was set to appear in the Central Bond Court on April 25, 2023, located at 2600 S. California.
