Body of Missing Man Found in Mohawk River

ALPLAUS, NY – Yesterday, the New York State Police Underwater Recovery Team (U.R.T.) recovered the body of a deceased male, believed to be Ryan J. Liszewski, from the Mohawk River near Alplaus, NY.

Ryan was reported missing to the Scotia Police Department and was last seen on April 8, 2023, in Schenectady, near Erie Boulevard and Maxon Road Extension.

The Scotia Police Department and Schenectady Police Department, assisted by the Schenectady County Street Crimes Task Force, followed multiple leads in their search for Ryan.

Due to his last known location, the U.R.T. conducted a search of the Mohawk River, where he was found. An autopsy is scheduled, and no foul play is currently suspected.

The Scotia Police Department and Schenectady Police Department expressed gratitude to the various agencies that assisted in the investigation and search.
