Wallingford man woken up by police and charged with multiple crimes

WALLINGFORD, PA – Early this morning, Thurman Julian Fortune, 30, was arrested on multiple charges, including aggravated and simple assault, terroristic threats, strangulation, recklessly endangering another person, and harassment.

The arrest took place in the 600 block of Vernon Street, Wallingford, where Fortune was roused from sleep around 6 a.m. by members of the Central Delco Tactical Response Team and the Nether Providence Police Department. The officers arrived at Fortune’s residence with a high-risk warrant for his arrest, which was sought based on information provided to investigators.

During the arrest, a firearm was confiscated, and Fortune was taken into custody without incident. He is currently being held at the county prison on $100,000 cash bail. In addition to the charges filed, drug charges are pending as part of an ongoing investigation, according to Nether Providence Police Department Chief David Splain.
