Mom, two daughters killed in fire in Bedford-Stuyvesant

NEW YORK, NY – Police in New York City have confirmed the identities of a mother and her two daughters who were killed in a fire early Friday morning.

On Friday, at approximately 5:05 a.m., the New York City Police and Fire Departments responded to a 911 call of a residential fire at 587 Gates Avenue, apartment #3A, in the 79 Precinct.

Upon arrival, the fire had already engulfed the apartment, and firefighters had to extinguish the flames quickly, but were unsuccessful in rescuing the occupants.

According to a report released by the NYPD, three individuals were found in the apartment, which belonged to 48-year-old Danielle Havens and her two daughters, 11-year-old Journee Miles and 9-year-old Keslee Miles. EMS personnel removed them from the scene and rushed them to NYC Health & Hospitals/Woodhull, but tragically, they were all pronounced dead upon arrival.
