ODENTON, MD – Today, at approximately 6:15 p.m., officers responded to a report of a shooting in a wooded clearing just south of Woodwardville. Ryan Christopher Gerald, 38, of Odenton, Maryland, confronted trespassing dirt bikers after responding to a property manager’s request for assistance.

Gerald armed himself with a rifle and fired two rounds, striking one of the bikes.

He then stood by with the victims until officers arrived. Although there were minor injuries reported by one of the victims, none resulted from the shots being fired.

Gerald was taken into custody without incident and has been charged accordingly in connection with the non-contact shooting.
