64-year-old killed in crash in Lanham

LANHAM, MD – A fatal collision in Lanham is currently under investigation by the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit.

The victim has been identified as 64-year-old Quinton Francis Jr. of Glenn Dale.

According to police, the incident occurred on April 29, around 3:30 am, when officers responded to a report of a collision involving two SUVs at the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Highway and Hargrove Drive.

Preliminary findings indicate that Francis was driving northbound on Martin Luther King Jr. Highway when his vehicle collided with another SUV that was making a left turn onto the same road.

Francis was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle and her passenger suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is currently investigating the case, and anyone with information is urged to contact the unit at 301-731-4422.
