Paterson man charged for sexual assault of woman

PATERSON, NJ – A Paterson man, Andre Williams, has been arrested and charged with aggravated sexual assault and criminal restraint after allegedly sexually assaulting a woman in Elmwood Park.

According to Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella, the investigation was conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Elmwood Park Police Department.

The prosecutor’s office received a report from the Elmwood Park Police Department on July 8, 2022, about the alleged sexual assault of a woman in the area.

The investigation revealed that Williams was the suspect in the attack.

Williams, who is unemployed and single, was arrested on Friday, in Paterson and was subsequently taken to the Bergen County Jail.

He is being held there, pending his first appearance in the Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack.
