Explosion, fire at Penn Township turkey barn, no injuries reported, livestock unharmed

PENN TOWNSHIP, PA – At 2:20 AM on Monday, NLCRPD Officers responded to a structure fire in the 300 block of E. Lexington Road.

Police said the property owner heard an explosion before seeing flames and smoke coming from his turkey barn.

No human or livestock injuries were reported.

Fire Companies from Brickerville, Brunnerville, Lititz, and Rothsville assisted at the scene and managed to bring the fire under control. The cause of the explosion and subsequent fire remains under investigation. The community is urged to report any information related to the incident to the NLCRPD.
