PITTSBURGH, PA – Sheriff Kevin M. Kraus recently announced the arrest of 24-year-old Kwaun Elliot, a fugitive wanted for probation violations on firearms charges. Elliot had been on the run for 45 days since March 14, when he used a 4th floor fire escape window to flee Renewal Center 1, located on the Boulevard of the Allies.

While evading capture, Elliot taunted authorities by using a Facebook page under a different name, claiming they could not locate him.

Early on the morning of the arrest, detectives from the sheriff’s office developed information that Elliot was staying at an Airbnb at Marriott City Center. Detectives arrived at the location just before noon and arrested Elliot without incident before transporting him to the Allegheny County Jail.
