Maryland high school teacher charged for groping female student

FORT MEADE, MD – On January 26, 2023, the Anne Arundel County Police Department became aware of an alleged sex offense involving a female student at Meade High School and a male teacher, Manuel Navarro-Montero, 43.

According to the victim, Navarro-Montero touched her “private and intimate areas” both over and under her clothing while inside the school building. The victim made a report, prompting an immediate investigation.

As soon as the allegations came to light, the school system removed Navarro-Montero from the school.

On Wednesday, detectives charged Montero, and he was arrested on Monday, on an open warrant. The charges include 3rd Degree Sex Offense, 4th Degree Sex Offense, 4th Degree Sex Offense – Position of Authority, and 2nd Degree Assault.
