OWINGS, MD – Moshe Michael Imel, 53, of Owings, entered a guilty plea in Calvert County Circuit Court on Tuesday, to three felony charges related to the sexual abuse of minors.

Imel had previously pleaded guilty to federal charges involving the production of child [censored]ography.

Between 2009 and 2020, Imel served as the head coach of the Patuxent Rhinos youth football team. He lured minors to his home under the guise of joining the team and bribed them with food, money, and gifts to engage in sexual acts.

Imel filmed the encounters on numerous occasions. Judge Mark S. Chandlee will sentence Imel on August 4, 2023, and the state is seeking 40 years of active incarceration. The combined state and federal sentences are expected to keep Imel behind bars for life.
