FRANKLIN TWP, NJ – An armed robbery took place at a jewelry store located on Hamilton Street on Monday, according to Somerset County Prosecutor John P. McDonald.

At around 11:56 a.m., Franklin Township Police Department received a 9-1-1 call about the incident. Upon arrival, they discovered that three unidentified males had entered the store by breaking the glass of the locked front door. In contrast, a fourth unidentified male remained outside in a vehicle.

One of the suspects pointed a handgun at the employees, while the other two smashed the glass display cases and stole an undisclosed amount of jewelry before fleeing the area in a vehicle. No injuries were reported during the robbery.

Detectives from the Franklin Township Police Department and the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit were immediately dispatched to the scene to investigate. The male suspects were wearing masks and gloves during the robbery and were last seen escaping the area on Hamilton Street towards Kossuth Street in an older model silver 4-door Lincoln Town car that was believed to have out-of-state license plates.
