One Dead in Single-Car Crash in Frederica

FREDERICA, DE – A 40-year-old man from Frederica, Delaware, was killed in a single-car crash on the evening of Wednesday.

The accident occurred when the man, driving a green 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis at high speed, failed to slow down and struck a set of trees at the southern end of Jackson Street. The driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, sustained critical injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

His name is being withheld until his family and relatives are notified. Jackson Street was closed for approximately three hours while the scene was investigated and cleared.
