29-year-old shot and killed early Saturday morning in the Bronx

NEW YORK CITY – A 29-year-old male was shot and killed in the Bronx early on Saturday. The shooting occurred at approximately 4:30 am.

NYPD officers responded after receiving a 911 call reporting gunshots in the neighborhood.

Upon arriving at the location at 4371 Third Avenue, 48th precinct officers learned the victim sustained a gunshot wound to the chest. The victim was transported to Saint Barnabas Hospital by private means and was pronounced dead upon arrival.

During their initial investigation, police recovered a firearm at the scene.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing. The police have not disclosed any potential motives for the shooting, and it is not clear whether the victim was targeted or whether it was a random attack.

The police have not released the identity of the victim, as they are still in the process of notifying his next of kin.
