PITTSBURGH, PA – Sheriff Kevin M. Kraus recently announced the arrest of 25-year-old Malik Banks, a West Mifflin man wanted on a bench warrant and an active assault warrant. Banks had been a fugitive since April 2022 after failing to appear in court for firearms violations charges by West Mifflin Police

. In May, Banks was charged with aggravated assault when a female victim told police that Banks struck her under her eye with a gun he was holding.

Detectives from the sheriff’s office developed information that Banks was in a residence on Midway Drive in West Mifflin, one of several addresses he has used in the past.

When detectives approached the address, Banks attempted to exit through a rear door but was stopped by K9 Woody and taken into custody without further incident. Banks was then transported to the Allegheny County Jail.
