19-year-old shot while leaving party in Dover

DOVER, DE – A shooting that took place on Sunday night on the 1500 block of South Governors Avenue in Dover has left a 19-year-old Dover man injured after being shot once in the leg while leaving a nearby party.

Several vehicles, as well as the nearby Touchdown bar and Valero gas station buildings, were struck by rounds during the shooting. The victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries and was later released.

Delaware State Police are actively investigating the incident, and detectives have recovered numerous bullet casings from the area.

Currently, no suspect information is available. The Troop 3 Criminal Investigations Unit is handling the case and asking possible witnesses to come forward.
