Suspect arrested for scooter drive-by shooting murder of 22-year-old in the Bronx

NEW YORK, NY – A suspect has been arrested in connection with a homicide that took place in the Bronx earlier this year. Yorvin Gomez, a 26-year-old male from the Bronx, has been charged with murder, manslaughter, and criminal possession of a weapon for a loaded firearm.

The arrest was made on Saturday.

The charges stem from an incident that occurred on Monday, February 13, 2023, at approximately 6:00 pm, when police responded to a 911 call reporting a male shot at 689 East 187 Street, also within the 48 Precinct.

The victim was shot multiple times by the passenger of a motorized scooter that had arrived at the location with another unknown individual. The two suspects fled southbound on Beaumont Avenue after the shooting.

The victim, a 22-year-old male, was transported to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
