Woman Shot By Post Office Employee in D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – A woman was shot yesterday morning at a post office in Northeast, D.C. The Washington, D.C. Metro Police Department and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service have apprehended a suspect in connection with the shooting that happened yesterday morning at the 900 block of Brentwood Road.

A U.S. Postal Service employee and the victim were involved in a verbal dispute at the listed location a few minutes before 9:30 am. The argument turned violent when the suspect drew out a handgun and shot the victim. U.S. Postal Inspectors apprehended the suspect, while the victim was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment and is expected to survive.

25-year-old Davida Johnson, of D.C., was arrested on Monday and charged with the shooting. The joint investigation revealed this offense was domestic in nature.
