BAYONNE, NJ – Yesterday, the Bayonne Police Department held a mock motor vehicle accident at Bayonne High School to raise awareness about the dangers of driving while distracted or intoxicated. The event was attended by students, faculty, and staff of the school.
The Bayonne Police Department worked in partnership with The Catch You Later Foundation and other local law enforcement agencies to create a realistic scene of a car accident caused by distracted or impaired driving. The demonstration was intended to educate students about the potentially fatal consequences of such reckless behavior.
Bayonne Police Chief, Robert Geisler, expressed gratitude towards Pam O’Donnell of The Catch You Later Foundation and Superintendent Niesz for their cooperation and support in organizing the event. He also extended his thanks to all of the partner agencies who contributed to the success of the event.
The event was part of a broader effort by the Bayonne Police Department to promote safe driving habits among the community, particularly young drivers. The department believes that such initiatives can help prevent future accidents and save lives.
