Boston Police Arrest Two for Firearm and Drug Possession Following Traffic Stop

BOSTON, MA – A routine traffic stop led to significant charges for two Boston-area residents on Sunday. Officers assigned to the District B-3 Anti-Crime Unit (Mattapan) observed a vehicle operating erratically and initiated a traffic stop in the area of 58 Johnston Street.

Upon making contact with the occupants, the officers found the driver’s license was suspended.

 A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed a loaded Glock 23 and two bags believed to contain crack cocaine

. The occupants, identified as Joseph Cruz and Diamani Monteiro-Williams, were arrested on charges related to firearm possession, drug possession, and driving with a suspended license.
