Ocean County Health Department Discontinues Weekly COVID-19 Updates

Palm Sunday in Philippines

Toms River, NJ – The Ocean County Health Department has announced it will stop its weekly COVID-19 bulletins on social media.

Effective April 1, 2023, the Ocean County Health Department will no longer distribute and post the weekly COVID-19 case updates on its website and social media platforms. This decision comes after the OCHD evaluated the current state of the pandemic in the region.

The OCHD stated that one of the key factors in their decision was the consistent decline in overall COVID-19 cases and deaths. Additionally, the Ocean County region has been downgraded from a moderate to low pandemic status according to the New Jersey Department of Health weekly surveillance report, which can be accessed directly at nj.gov/health.

While the OCHD will no longer provide the weekly COVID-19 updates, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) will continue to supply COVID-19 reports at data.cdc.gov.

The OCHD encourages individuals to contact them at 732-341-9700 if they have any questions or concerns about COVID-19 in the Ocean County region.
