19-year-old killed in fatal crash in Montgomery County

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD – The Montgomery County Department of Police’s Collision Reconstruction Unit has launched an investigation into a fatal single-vehicle collision that occurred on Clopper Road between Waring Station Road and Game Preserve Road on Tuesday.

The victim, identified as 19-year-old Samuel Isaac Castaneda of Germantown, was driving a silver 2018 Honda CR-V northbound on Clopper Road when the vehicle veered off the road and crashed into a utility pole. Castaneda was pronounced dead at the scene.

The CRU is actively working to determine the circumstances that led to this fatal incident.
