Georgia woman charged for beating friend’s Yorkie to death

NEWARK, DE – A woman from Marietta, GA, has turned herself in to police after being charged with felony Cruelty to Animals.

Syniah Percell, 25, surrendered to the police and was later brought before the Justice of the Peace Court #2 via video. Percell was released on her own recognizance following the hearing.

She was charged after allegedly abusing a Yorkie dog left in her car by a friend.

Newark Police responded to an apartment in the 100-block of Thorn Lane on April 29, after receiving a report of an injured dog.

Upon investigation, it was discovered that the dog had suffered severe injuries and was taken to a veterinarian. Video evidence showed that the resident’s friend, 25-year-old Syniah Percell, had abused the dog while it was under her care.

The dog later died from its injuries.
