18-year-old Arrested for Carjacking Outside Newark Gym

NEWARK, DE – Traesun Johnson, an 18-year-old resident of Newark, Delaware, was arrested by Delaware State Police on Thursday, in relation to a carjacking that occurred last Sunday, outside the Edge Fitness located at 2800 Fashion Center Boulevard, Newark.

During the incident, a 31-year-old female was shoved to the ground, her keys were forcibly taken, and her Dodge Durango was stolen. The vehicle has since been recovered.

Johnson was taken into custody without incident and has been charged with Robbery First Degree and Conspiracy Second Degree.

He was committed to Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on a $37,000 cash bond. The second suspect remains unidentified.
