44-year-old man slashed in face on Brooklyn subway train, suspect sought

NEW YORK, NY – A violent attack on board a southbound “C” train was reported on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, near the Clinton-Washington Avenue subway station, leaving a 44-year-old male victim with a laceration to his face.

According to police, the victim intervened in a dispute between an unknown male individual and another male, before the individual engaged in a dispute with the victim and slashed him with an unknown sharp object.

The attacker exited the train at the Franklin Avenue Station and fled in an unknown direction. The victim was transported to NYC Health and Hospitals/Kings County for medical treatment. An image of the attacker has been released by the NYPD’s DCPI, depicting a male with short dark hair, approximately 5’8” in height, wearing a baseball hat, black hoodie, and dark-colored pants.

Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward, and have provided the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline, 1-800-577-TIPS (8477), as well as a Spanish-language line at 1-888-57-PISTA (74782), for those who may have information about the incident.
