Brooklyn Man Arrested on Rape and Assault Charges

BROOKLYN, NY – A 58-year-old Brooklyn resident, Tony Kempsey, has been arrested and charged with rape, assault, and sexual abuse, the 112th Precinct Police Department announced on Thursday. The arrest occurred at approximately 3:50 pm at Kempsey’s residence on 279 Butler Street.

This arrest follows an ongoing investigation into a sexual assault that took place on Sunday, April 30, 2023, involving a 49-year-old female victim. The New York City Police Department’s 108th Precinct revealed that the victim was approached by an unknown male on a motorized scooter, who later attacked and assaulted her. Following the assault, the victim was transported to NYC Health and Hospital/Elmhurst in serious but stable condition.

The Police Department requests anyone with information pertaining to this case to come forward.
