NEW YORK, NY – On Thursday, April 27, 2023, officers from the 48th Precinct attempted to stop a gray 2017 Honda Civic for a traffic law violation at Crotona Avenue and East Tremont Avenue.

The vehicle, however, sped off. It was later found at Cross Bronx Expressway and Crotona Avenue, having collided with an unoccupied parked car.

A loaded .380 caliber firearm was found inside the abandoned vehicle. Surveillance footage showed an unknown male fleeing from the vehicle after the crash, entering 1820 Crotona Avenue.

The suspect is a male of approximately 6’4″ height with a dark complexion, a thin build, and black hair. He was last seen wearing a white hooded sweatshirt and red pants.
