Hit and Run Incident on North Broad Street Reported

PHILADELPHIA, PA – Police in Philadelphia are continuing their investigation into a hit and run last week.

A red Toyota SUV struck a 35-year-old male pedestrian in the middle of the block and then fled the scene.

First responders arrived within 10 minutes of the incident, and the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

A hit-and-run accident occurred at the intersection of North Broad Street and Lehigh Avenue, as reported by the Philadelphia Police. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene of the crash immediately, but fragments of their vehicle were discovered near the local Sunoco gas station.

The police found the driver’s vehicle at 8th Street and Cumberland Street, but it is unclear if they were able to locate the driver.

Further information regarding the driver’s identity or potential arrest has not been released by the authorities.
