Monroe police officers finish long bicycle journey to D.C. in annual Police Unity Tour

MONROE, NJ – Members of Team Monroe, comprising officers from the Monroe Township Police Department, have arrived safely in Washington D.C. after participating in the Police Unity Tour.

The team rode with the motto “We Ride For Those Who Died,” with the primary objective of the event being to bring attention to the lives of law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty and to raise funds for the National Law Enforcement Officer’s Memorial.

The riders will now spend the weekend honoring the memories of those who lost their lives while performing their duty.

The Police Unity Tour is an annual event that sees thousands of police officers from across the country participate in a multi-day bike ride to honor their fallen colleagues. The event culminates in a ceremony in Washington D.C. where the names of all the law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty that year are added to the National Law Enforcement Officer’s Memorial.
