CALVERT COUNTY, MD – Lusby resident Austin Harris, 25, was pronounced dead at the scene of a crash in Huntingtown late on Thursday.

The incident occurred around 8 p.m. when Calvert County Sheriff’s Office deputies observed two speeding motorcyclists driving on Plum Point Road. Moments later, a crash scene was discovered in the 2200 block of Plum Point Road near Ida’s Lane.

Deputies found a black Suzuki motorcycle and Harris on the shoulder of the roadway. Harris was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

The investigation determined that the second motorcycle, driven by Huntingtown resident Tyler King, 26, remained at the scene to provide a witness statement. Speed and driver error are believed to be contributing factors in the crash, according to investigators.
