Queens man arrested in 2022 murder case

QUEENS, NY – On Wednesday, Damion Howell, a 39-year-old male from Queens, was arrested and charged with murder and criminal possession of a loaded firearm, in connection with a homicide case that occurred within the 103rd Precinct.

The charges followed an investigation into a shooting incident that occurred on Friday, August 5, 2022. At around 1:45 am, a 29-year-old male victim was found unconscious with a gunshot wound to the torso in front of 106-17 Waltham Street. He was transported to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The investigation, which is still ongoing, revealed that the victim was engaged in a verbal dispute with two unknown individuals, who shot him in the torso before fleeing.

The New York City Police Department is still seeking information on the whereabouts of the two unidentified individuals.
