Brooklyn Man Charged in Connection to March Assault

BROOKLYN, NY – The New York City Police Department’s 71 Precinct has announced the arrest and charges against 21-year-old Juqual Freeman in connection to an assault that took place on Tuesday, March 14, 2023. Freeman was arrested this Tuesday.

The incident, which occurred around 10:20 pm on a B44 MTA bus near Empire Boulevard and Rogers Avenue, involved two unknown individuals who sat behind the victim before one of them, allegedly Freeman, discharged a firearm at the victim, striking him in the buttocks. The suspects then exited the bus and fled.

Freeman now faces charges including attempted murder, assault, attempted assault, and criminal possession of a weapon.
